Glassic History
Glass soda bottles were produced since 1806. The first iteration resembled the form of ale and spirits bottles. Three other iterations of glass bottles were developed, including: Saratoga bottles (today’s wine bottles), “blob-top” bottles (have a plastic top to keep the drink carbonated as long as possible), Coca-Cola bottle (also known as the hobble skirt bottle created in the 1920’s).
Soda, Beer, and Coincidence?
Due to the alcohol probation in 1920, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, their economic flow of the state plummeted with the Whitefish Bay Pabst Resort, a renowned brewery event and delightful recreational venue, ending its lifecycle.
Once the prohibition was lifted in 1933, 9 out of 100 breweries outlived the prohibition. During the prohibition, breweries resorted to selling in underground markets or items outside of alcohol. One of these items were soda.
Almost 9 out of 10 breweries outlived the prohibition
In Lake Delevan, Wisconsin, a local hotel illegally sold Edelweiss beer and “straight whiskey highballs” in soda bottles. Also, some towns in northern Wisconsin, including Dawson City, Cripple Creek, and El Durango, used soda fountains to dispense beer instead of soda.
It's soda, I promise... Or is it?
